SponsorAFamily.org (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Platform”) is committed to transparency and fairness in how donations are processed and distributed. This Refund Policy explains when refunds may be issued, how requests are handled, and what donors should expect.

1. Donations Are Generally Non‑Refundable

All donations made through SponsorAFamily.org are considered final once processed through PayPal. Because funds are collected, recorded, and then distributed to families on a weekly basis, we are often unable to reverse or retrieve donations after they have been disbursed.

For this reason, donations are typically non‑refundable.

2. Exceptions Where Refunds May Be Considered

We may review and approve a refund request under the following circumstances:

A. Duplicate Transactions

  • The donor accidentally submitted the same donation more than once.
  • PayPal processed a duplicate charge.

B. Fraudulent or Unauthorized Charges

  • The donor’s PayPal account or payment method was used without permission.
  • The donor provides documentation confirming the unauthorized activity.

C. Technical Errors

  • A system malfunction caused an incorrect donation amount.
  • A payment was processed despite a failed or incomplete form submission.

Refunds for these cases are reviewed individually and are not guaranteed.

3. Situations Where Refunds Cannot Be Issued

We cannot issue refunds in the following situations:

  • The donation has already been disbursed to the family.
  • The donor changed their mind after the donation was completed.
  • The donor disagrees with how the family uses their funds.
  • The donor misunderstood the purpose of the donation.
  • The donor requests a refund outside of PayPal’s dispute window.

Once funds have been transferred to a family, they cannot be retrieved.

4. How to Request a Refund

If you believe your donation qualifies for review, please contact us at:

Include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your email address
  • The donation amount
  • The date of the donation
  • The PayPal transaction ID
  • A brief explanation of the issue

We will review your request and respond as quickly as possible.

5. PayPal Disputes

Donors may also contact PayPal directly to dispute unauthorized or fraudulent charges. PayPal’s decision process is independent of SponsorAFamily.org.

6. Processing Time for Approved Refunds

If a refund is approved:

  • It will be issued back to the original payment method.
  • Processing times may vary depending on PayPal and the donor’s bank.
  • Refunds typically appear within 3–10 business days.

7. Changes to This Refund Policy

We may update this Refund Policy as needed. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the page.
